Centre in Guadalajara, Mexico
VLC, which is a branch of Vancouver
English Centre in Vancouver, Canada, is certified by the Secretaria
de Educaciςn Pωblica (SEP).
Formal certificates and transcripts are issued from SEP for each student
completing at least one level of VLC's Spanish Program.
Our teachers, among the best qualified in Mexico, constantly reinforce
our "Spanish Only" policy. Our small classes offer individual
attention to our students. The sophisticated curriculum is
supplemented by special textbooks that we have developed ourselves.
The comfortable environment helps people learn Spanish in a fun and entertaining
way. We use the most modern equipment for language teaching, as
well as a wide variety of activities such as role-plays, videos, games,
interviews and conversation. Classroom instruction focuses on the
practical, natural use of language.
Spanish
Language Program: Students
may choose to study either Grammar or Conversation for 10 hours per week
or they may study both language components together in the Intensive Spanish
Program (20 hours per week). Our Spanish curriculum is carefully
laid out to ensure a natural progression with constant opportunities for
conversation.
English
Language Programs: This
program is designed to develop your language skills so they can be applied
in a practical way to real situations. Videotapes, role plays, class
interaction and group participation are everyday methods of teaching in
our classrooms.
TEFL
Certificate Program: Many of
our students are also interested in becoming English as a Foreign Language
teachers. We offer an intensive 4-week TEFL Certificate Program,
which fully prepares the students to teach adults of all English levels.
Other
Programs: VLC also offers
Business Spanish, private tutoring, English, and Japanese programs.
VLC is affiliated with Vancouver International College of Guadalajara,
which is an all-English kindergarten and primary school in Guadalajara.
Facilities:
The school is centrally located in
a nice district only a short walk from Guadalajara's historic downtown,
shops, restaurants and other services.
Accommodation:
VLC boasts some of the best homestays in Guadalajara. Families are
carefully screened for suitability, and they display the famous warm Mexican
hospitality. We also have a few apartments available for students
who prefer a more independent lifestyle.
Activity Coordinators:
We have an extensive after-school leisure activity program, that offers
exposure to Mexican culture, including weekend trips to nearby villages.
These extra-curricular activities offer the students an opportunity to
practice their new language skills in a natural setting.
